Matchbox Twenty - You Won't Be Mine

Take your head around the world
See what you get
From your mind
Write your soul down word for word
See who's your friend
Who is kind
It's almost like a disease
I know soon you will be

Over the lies, you'll be strong
You'll be rich in love and you will carry on
But no - oh no
No you won't be mine

Take your straight line for a curve
Make it stretch, the same old line
Try to find if it was worth what you spent
Why you're guilty for the way
You're feeling now
It's almost like being free
And I know soon you will be

Over the lies, you'll be strong
You'll be rich in love and you will carry on
But no - oh no
No you won't be mine

Take yourself out to the curb
Sit and wait
A fool for life
It's almost like a disease
I know soon you will be

Over the lies, you'll be strong
You'll be rich in love and you will carry on
But no - oh no
No you won't be mine

Shiuuu!

Leitor em viagem interior

Matchbox Twenty - Bent ...apanha os meus pedaços...levanta-me

Letra

If I fall along the way
Pick me up and dust me off
And if I get too tired to make it
Be my breath so I can walk

If I need some other love
Give me more than I can stand
And when my smile gets old and faded
Wait around I'll smile again

Shouldn't be so complicated
Just hold me and then
Just hold me again

Can you help me I'm bent
I'm so scared that I'll never
Get put back together

You're breaking me in
And this is how we will end
With you and me bent

If I couldn't sleep could you sleep
Could you paint me better off
Could you sympathize with my needs
I know you think I need a lot

I started out clean but I'm jaded
Just phoning it in
Just breaking the skin

Can you help me I'm bent
I'm so scared that I'll never
Get put back together

You're breaking me in
And this is how we will end
With you and me bent

Start bending me
It's never enough
I feel all your pieces

Start bending me
Keep bending me until I'm completely broken in

Shouldn't be so complicated
Just touch me and then
Just touch me again

Can you help me I'm bent
I'm so scared that I'll never
Get put back together

You're breaking me in
And this is how we will end
With you and me bent

Can you help me I'm bent
I'm so scared that I'll never
Get put back together

You're breaking me in
And this is how we will end
With you and me bent

"Bookmobile Submarine": a biblioteca submarina.

"Join the eccentric Captain Shinypants as he commands the Bookmobile Submarine to the deepest depths of the seas, providing reading material, internet access and videos to our underwater friends. There's a soft rug for the carpet shark, periodicals for the microfiche, fun and games for the sea monkeys, handicapped facilities for the blind gobi, and even a special disco section for the manatee".

O primeiro tradutor da linguagem feminina / The woman language translator

Ora vejam:

O leitor nú / The naked reader

As pinturas são de Jacques Sultana.

A leitura desperta-nos para o mundo exterior / "the act of reading imbues the reader with a sensitivity toward the outside world..."

Portrait of Betty McCann, George Spencer Watson,  1927

"I think the act of reading imbues the reader with a sensitivity toward the outside world that people who don’t read can sometimes lack. I know it seems like a contradiction in terms; after all reading is such a solitary, internalizing act that it appears to represent a disengagement from day-to-day life. But reading, and particularly the reading of fiction, encourages us to view the world in new and challenging ways…It allows us to inhabit the consciousness of another which is a precursor to empathy, and empathy is, for me, one of the marks of a decent human being".

Natal, e não Dezembro, poema de David Mourão-Ferreira

Sulamith Wulfing

Natal, e não Dezembro

Entremos, apressados, friorentos,
numa gruta, no bojo de um navio,
num presépio, num prédio, num presídio
no prédio que amanhã for demolido...
Entremos, inseguros, mas entremos.
Entremos e depressa, em qualquer sítio,
porque esta noite chama-se Dezembro,
porque sofremos, porque temos frio.

Entremos, dois a dois: somos duzentos,
duzentos mil, doze milhões de nada.
Procuremos o rastro de uma casa,
a cave, a gruta, o sulco de uma nave...
Entremos, despojados, mas entremos.
De mãos dadas talvez o fogo nasça,
talvez seja Natal e não Dezembro,
talvez universal a consoada.

A canção de Natal mais sexy é de 1953: "Santa Baby"

Eartha Kitt celebrizou esta canção.

Madonna ajudou a apimentar esta provocante melodia de deixar qualquer Pai Natal a ver renas a andar à roda...

A letra:

Santa baby, slip a sable under the tree, for me

I've been an awful good girl

Santa baby, and hurry down the chimney tonight

Santa baby, an out-of-space convertible too, light blue

I'll wait up for you dear

Santa baby, and hurry down the chimney tonight

Think of all the fun I've missed

Think of all the fellas that I haven't kissed

Next year I could be oh so good

If you'd check off my Christmas list

Boo doo bee doo

Santa honey, I wanna yacht and really that's

Not a lot

I've been an angel all year

Santa baby, and hurry down the chimney tonight

Santa cutie, there's one thing I really do need, the deed

To a platinum mine

Santa cutie, and hurry down the chimney tonight

Santa baby, I'm filling my stocking with a duplex, and checks

Sign your 'X' on the line

Santa baby, and hurry down the chimney tonight

Come and trim my Christmas tree

With some decorations bought at Tiffany's

I really do believe in you

Let's see if you believe in me

Boo doo bee doo

Santa baby, forgot to mention one little thing, a ring

I don't mean a phone

Santa baby, and hurry down the chimney tonight

Hurry down the chimney tonight

Hurry down the chimney tonight
